12 Planet Cards. Level one up and the boost never wears off
Data from build 17459173, updated
Playing a Planet Card doesn’t put anything new in your deck, it adds permanent levels to a poker hand’s base chips and mult instead. Level up Two Pair a few times with spare Planets and it stops being an afterthought and starts anchoring a real build. Pluto covers High Card, Neptune covers Straight Flush, and seven more standard hands sit between them, all findable in the shop or inside Celestial Packs same as any other consumable. Skip them entirely and you’re leaving permanent, free power sitting on the table.
Each level adds a fixed amount of chips and mult to that hand’s base scoring, and the bump never expires for the rest of the run. Stack multiple copies of the same Planet and the levels add up, so four Jupiters can turn Flush into a hand that out-scores ones most players assume are stronger. The tooltip on every Planet card shows the per-level gain, which makes it easy to pick a leveling target on purpose instead of by accident.
Three Planets don’t start in the pool at all: the ones tied to Five of a Kind, Flush House, and Flush Five stay locked until you pull off that specific hand in an actual run. Land one once and the card joins your possible pool for every run after, in the shop and in Celestial Packs alike. It’s the one Balatro unlock that rewards pulling off a specific hand instead of grinding or luck.
