The exact in-game rule behind every Steam achievement, and when the game checks it
Data from build 24651854, updated
Overview
PlateUp! keeps its 26 Steam achievements short and mean. 9 of them pop the first time a customer gets a base dish, Steak through Burgers, and 3 more mark the Overtime milestones past Day 15. The rest are stunts: keep the restaurant burning for 15 straight seconds, end a day with 10 messes on the floor, serve a group with under a second of patience left. Every row below spells out the rule the game checks, not the vague Steam line.
How Unlocks Work
When the Check Happens
Three timings, and the tag on each row says which applies. Instant achievements pop mid-service as soon as the rule is met: serve the dish, reach the day. End-of-day achievements wait until the clock runs out, then judge whatever state the restaurant is in, so Fireman needs 10 fires still burning and Health Inspector? needs 10 messes still on the floor when the day closes. Event achievements ride one specific trigger, like switching on Practice Mode or creating a franchise.
Reading the Rule
Steam’s one-liner is often looser than what the code checks. Anti-social fails the moment anyone puts an item on a table by hand, and losing the run voids it. Please Wait is the one threshold that isn’t a plain count: it needs the first group of the day, and only that group, still waiting to order when the day clock hits 99%. When a rule turns on a number, the entry lists it. When it turns on a dish or an appliance, like Sharp Knife or Danger Hob, the entry links straight to that page.
