What the opponent plays each turn, and when it upgrades
Data updated
Opponents in Inscryption don't draw from a deck. Each battle follows a script that queues set cards on set turns, which is why Ants and Turtles always opens with a Flying Ant. Act III has the most scripts at 27 and Act I has 21. Kaycee's Mod adds three of its own, Dire Wolf Juggernaut and Wild Bulls among them, and the Finale holds four boss fights including Leshy's goodbye.
Each battle has a difficulty range it can be drawn in, and each queued card has its own window inside that. Difficulty rises the deeper you get, so a play can be missing early and appear later. In Ants and Turtles, the turn 1 Skink only joins the Flying Ant from difficulty 7.
Some plays upgrade at a set difficulty, shown by the arrow next to the card. That same Skink becomes a Mud Turtle from difficulty 10. There are 298 swaps like it across all the scripts.
