Dead Cells is Motion Twin's roguevania. You're a clump of cells that crawls into a dead prisoner's body and fights its way across a cursed island, one biome at a time, with no checkpoints. Die and you wake up back in the Prisoners' Quarters, and any cells you didn't spend at the Collector are gone. It left Early Access on 6 August 2018. Evil Empire carried development on from there through four paid DLCs and the free Rise of the Giant, and the last update shipped in December 2024.

Data updated
Your build is a colour. Each Scroll of Power raises Brutality, Tactics or Survival, and every weapon and nearly every skill scales off one or two of them, so a purple bow picked up in a red run hits a lot softer than the red sword next to it. Three things carry over between runs. Blueprints drop from enemies and turn into gear once you carry them to the Collector and pay cells for them. Runes open the map instead. The Spider Rune sits on seven exits of the route map, and the Teleportation Rune on six. Boss Stem Cells come last, and every one you absorb makes the island nastier while opening new drops. Dead Inside only drops from Lancers at 4 BSC or higher, and at 5 BSC the Malaise follows you from one biome into the next.

Per-hit base damage, crit conditions and blueprint drops for every sword, bow and shield.

Phaser, turrets, traps and grenades, with cooldowns and base stats for all of them.

Boss outfit variants by Boss Stem Cell, the Flawless no-hit set and every unlock cost.

Who drops which blueprint and at what odds, plus HP and base attack damage for every foe.

Every route through the island, with the rune or Boss Stem Cell each exit needs.

The Legendary affix on nearly every weapon, plus Minor and Major rolls.

What each Boss Stem Cell changes, up to the Malaise that follows you at 5 BSC.

Runes, Boss Stem Cells and Collector upgrades with what each one costs.
