Recruit conditions, shop stock and prices by happiness
8 of the 17 settlers stay out of reach until you kill a specific boss. The Mage, for one, needs the Void Wizard down first.
Settlers turn up in villages, the dungeon or the wild, and you invite them to your settlement. Each entry says where to look.
Happiness sets shop prices. A Farmer sells Rope for 100 at best and 190 at worst, so a settler with a good room is a cheaper shop.
