Eight badges climb a Bronze-Silver-Gold ladder, the rest sit at one tier
Data from build 23811903, updated
Clearing the game once unlocks a badge. Clear the same challenge again under tougher terms, a bigger deck, a faster clock, a harder modifier, and it bumps that badge up a tier instead of awarding a new one. Eight of Slay the Spire 2’s 23 badges work that way, climbing Bronze to Silver to Gold; the rest sit at a single tier and don’t move. None of it touches an active run: a badge is a record of what you’ve beaten, and a target once a straightforward win stops feeling like enough.
Most badges sit at a single tier, but eight climb the full three-rung ladder, and each rung counts as a separate badge: its own name, description, and icon. Clear a Bronze badge’s challenge in a harder form and it bumps to Silver, then Gold.
There’s no single rule: some tiers demand a bigger deck, others a faster clock, others a win under a modifier you’d normally skip. Every badge lists its own requirements, and what pushes one to Gold might do nothing for another.
