Every Ante ends on a Boss Blind, and every eighth one swaps in a Showdown instead
Data from build 17459173, updated
Every Ante runs through three Blinds in order, Small, then Big, then Boss. Small only asks for the Ante’s base chip target and pays $3; Big bumps that target to 1.5× for $4. Either one can be skipped for a Tag, but nothing skips the Boss. Boss Blinds multiply that same base target, usually by 2×, and load in a rule that punishes a specific play style, from suit bans to The Flint cutting your Chips and Mult in half. Reach Ante 8 and the Boss slot gets swapped out entirely for one of five Showdown Bosses, tougher fights that pay $8 instead of the usual $5.
Small and Big Blinds carry no gimmick: hit the score, bank the cash, move to the next one. Small pays $3 for a target equal to the Ante’s base chips; Big pays $4 for 1.5× that same number. Skip either one and you walk away with a Tag instead of the cash, which pays off once your Jokers are already carrying the score.
23 regular Boss Blinds pay $5 and mostly demand 2× the Ante’s base chips, though The Wall demands 4× and The Needle just 1×, limiting you to one hand. Several gate behind a minimum Ante, like The Ox at 6+, which wipes your money to $0 every time you play your most-used hand. The Club, Goad, Window, and Head each shut down a suit, and The Flint halves your Chips and Mult.
Ante 8 replaces the Boss with one of five Showdown Bosses, and Endless cycles the same five back every eighth Ante after that. Each pays $8 and breaks a different rule: Amber Acorn flips and shuffles your Jokers, Verdant Leaf debuffs every card until you sell one, Violet Vessel wants 6× the base chips, Crimson Heart disables a random Joker each hand, and Cerulean Bell locks one card into your selection regardless.
