Overview
A single playing card can carry three modifiers at once, one Edition, one Seal, and one Enhancement, each pulling its own weight without touching the other two. Foil piles on flat Chips, Holographic and Polychrome push Mult instead, and Negative is the odd one out, adding a Joker slot when it lands on a Joker or a consumable slot when it lands on a Tarot or Planet. Seals trigger off something you do at the table: Gold pays $3 when it scores, Red retriggers the card once, and Blue or Purple conjure a Planet or Tarot if you’ve got room to hold it. Put a Red Seal on a Steel King and its 1.5× Mult fires twice for every hand it sits out.
How They Stack
Editions
Base is one of six editions, and it does nothing at all. Foil adds a flat +50 Chips, Holographic adds +10 Mult, and Polychrome multiplies your Mult by 1.5×, the strongest of the three. Negative skips Chips and Mult entirely and grants an extra slot instead: one more Joker if it lands on a Joker, one more consumable slot if it lands on a Tarot, Planet, or Spectral.
Seals
4 Seals exist, each firing a different trigger. Gold pays $3 as soon as the card is played and scores, and Red retriggers that same card once, both straightforward. Blue and Purple ask for patience instead: Blue creates a Planet Card for your final played hand of the round, and Purple creates a Tarot when you discard the card, but both need an open consumable slot or the effect fizzles.
Enhancements
Bonus (+30 Chips), Mult (+4 Mult), Wild (counts as any suit), Stone (+50 Chips with no rank or suit), and Gold ($3 if it’s still in your hand at round’s end) make up five of the eight Enhancements, each one a flat, guaranteed effect. Steel pays 1.5× Mult for simply staying in your hand. Glass doubles Mult but has a 1-in-4 chance to shatter, and Lucky gambles hardest: a 1-in-5 shot at +20 Mult, a 1-in-15 shot at $20.
