Skip a Small or Big Blind and the Tag under it is yours, at the price of that Blind's cash and the shop after it
Data from build 17459173, updated
A Tag sits under the Skip button on every Small and Big Blind. Skip, and you give up that Blind’s cash and the shop visit that follows in exchange for it. Early on the trade usually favours the Tag. A Negative Tag makes the next base-edition Joker in the shop free and Negative, an extra Joker slot without burning an Ectoplasm on it. Pack Tags open a free booster on the spot (Mega size for everything but the Ethereal Tag’s Spectral Pack), the Investment Tag pays $25 once you beat the Boss, and a Double Tag copies whichever Tag you take next.
The Boss can never be skipped. Small and Big can, and skipping either sends you straight to the next Blind with no payout and no shop, so skip both and you face the Boss with the Jokers you started the Ante on. The Speed Tag pays $5 for every Blind skipped so far this run. Late in a skip-heavy route, that adds up fast.
Until Ante 2, the pool leaves out Negative, Standard, Meteor, Buffoon, Handy, Garbage, Ethereal, Top-up and Orbital, so Ante 1 draws from 15 Tags at most. Some also wait on your collection. The Rare Tag won’t show until you’ve discovered Blueprint, and the Foil, Holographic, Polychrome and Negative Tags each need their Edition discovered first.
Negative is an easy skip every time. Investment’s $25 dwarfs the $3 or $4 a Small or Big Blind pays in the first couple of Antes, and a Double Tag is as good as whatever you pair it with, so line it up ahead of Investment for $50. D6 only helps with cash to reroll. Handy and Garbage count every hand played and every discard left unused this run, so they pay more the later you grab them.
