How to build Gustav
For demo patch 0.5.13.
Take at Rank B
Every cast generates a Shard, and every time he generates Shards he gains Mana Regen and 5 Magic. Blizzard gets stronger with each cast.
Instead
The GlacierAdds Tank
Adds Tank and 40 Defense, and Blizzard always lands on Gustav with extra Shields. Nerfed in two patches, still the pick for a Defense team.
Instead
Spends Shards for team Mana Regen. The weakest Mystic spec in the game; skip it.
Rank modifiers to take at A and S
Range 3 Mystic with a 150 Max Mana bar, the biggest on the roster. Starting Mana and Mana Regen matter more for him than for anyone.

Lore
He came up through academia, with three published papers before he turned twenty one, and Aegis hired him straight out of his post-doc. He runs the numbers behind crystal refining, making each batch yield more usable energy than the last, and his models are why Aegis's supply chain has stayed a step ahead of every competitor for six straight quarters.
He wants a new challenge. Yours presents an interesting scenario. He'd like to see how it plays out.
