Every piece of the 22 Archaeology sets, where it drops and the renown it pays
Data from build 25583279, updated
Errol’s museum in The Narrows takes 105 artifacts, five to a set, across 21 sets. The Dig Site Material Set makes 22, and it is the odd one out: it wants Clay, Peat, Sod, Shards and Shard Mass. Donating every artifact pays 1,085 renown, which feeds your Town Rank. The Dragon Artifact Set from the Ancient Ruins pays the most at 150. Most sets come from a single place, so find the right dig site and keep swinging. 6 sets drop nothing until you buy an Archaeology, Fishing or Mining perk, so budget Essence for those. Tick pieces off below as you donate: the checklist remembers them in this browser.
Dig sites turn up on grass, sand and dirt. Hit one with a pickaxe or shovel. What comes out is unidentified: hold the interact button on it before you can donate, sell or gift it. The Western Ruins always has some sites. Western Ruins Scholar (Archaeology 1) and Eastern Road Scholar (15) each add a daily site in their area, and they’re the cheapest way to speed up the early sets. Museum Quality I to III tilt the odds toward uncommon, rare and legendary finds.
Aquatic Antiquities (Fishing 1) lets you reel in the Aquatic set, and Sunken Secrets (Archaeology 1) puts the Sunken set in dive spots. Grab both early. They’re cheap. Well Placed (30) adds the Oopart pieces to every overworld dig site. Former Farmers (45) puts a daily dig site on your farm with the Vintage Farm Tools. Mist Sight (60) opens one Mist Spot a day, and each pull costs 10 Essence. The Ritual set needs the Mining perk Lost to History (45) before Ritual Chambers start showing up.
Rewards go by how many Archaeology sets you’ve finished, not which ones. The first gets you a Wooden Treasure Box, the Explorer’s Hat and the Artifact Replicator in the museum. The next three finish the Explorer outfit. After that each set adds a treasure box plus a furniture recipe, up to a Golden Treasure Box and the Mistril Forge at 21. The Upper Mines set is the easy first one: you’re on floors 1 to 19 anyway, and four of its five pieces are common or uncommon.
Duplicates are good gifts. 44 artifacts are on somebody’s loved list: Olric loves every Perfect gem and ore, and Stillwell loves six artifacts. Open a piece to see its fans. Otherwise run spares through the replicator. Every replica sells for 75t, more than 56 of the 105 artifacts fetch raw. Back in Vogue (30) and Back in Vogue II (45) add 25% each to artifact prices, but you won’t get rich off any of it. The Perfect Pink Diamond tops out at 325t.
