Strike windows per rod, what each fish size costs and pays, and what the chests hold
Data from build 25583279, updated
Fishing difficulty is the strike window: the frames you get to hit the button after a bite, counted at 60 a second. A Worn Fishing Rod gives you 35 frames on a small fish (0.58s) and only 18 on a legendary. The Mistril Fishing Rod stretches those to 48 and 35. Upgrade the rod before you go after legendaries. Nothing else makes them fair.
Stamina is the same whatever the size, but bigger fish pay more essence. Treasure chests come out of the same spawn roll as the fish. Spots and seasons for each species are on the Fish page.
Frames, with seconds at 60 fps underneath. Medium and giant fish share the small and large windows.

Legendary and special fish multiply their size’s essence by 2.
Each chest pays Tesserae within its range plus loot rolled from its table. A few lines appear in that table more than once, marked ×2.
One per season, each tied to that season’s worst or strangest weather. None bite until you own the Legendary perk, and all four use the legendary strike window: 18 frames on the starting rod, 35 on the best.
